The Scott Law Firm, PLLC is led by Colin M. Scott, a former deputy prosecutor who began his legal career in the Pacific Northwest more than ten years ago. Mr. Scott has successfully tried cases in both state and federal court and worked on hundreds of cases filed in Washington, Oregon, Utah, California, and Texas. His practice is based in Vancouver, Washington and focuses 100% on personal injury and wrongful death cases.
Mr. Scott is committed to obtaining justice for his clients and prides himself on winning cases through hard work, integrity, and compassion. He is an Eagle member of the Washington State Association for Justice and belongs to various professional organizations including the Clark County Bar Association, Washington State Bar Association, and People Over Profits grassroots organization.
EDUCATION & BACKGROUND
Mr. Scott is a graduate from University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California, where he made Dean’s Honor List while working full-time and attending night school. Before graduating, Mr. Scott worked as a law clerk for one of the West Coast’s premiere personal injury firms and clerked at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Eastern District of California, where he successfully prosecuted criminal cases in federal court under the supervision of Assistant United States Attorneys.
Prior to law school, Mr. Scott worked as a paralegal for a nationally recognized personal injury firm in Portland, Oregon that specializes in representing injured asbestos workers and their families. He studied Music and French at California State University Chico, where he made Dean’s Honor List, and worked as a high school English teacher in Northern France.
FAMILY & PERSONAL LIFE
In his spare time, Mr. Scott enjoys spending time with his wife, Lindsay, and their two cats (although he considers himself to be more of a dog person). He is an accomplished swimmer, having competed at the national level, and former volunteer coach with the Vancouver Swim Club. Mr. Scott also provides pro bono legal services to several local non-profit organizations including the Evergreen Fast Pitch Officials Association and Merry Heart Children’s Camp, a local charity whose mission is to provide recreational opportunities to children suffering from congenital heart disorders. An avid cyclist, Mr. Scott recently began volunteering for Bikes for Humanity, and in the past he has spent a significant amount of time volunteering for humanitarian and environmental organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters and Trout Unlimited.
